What is Counselling

Counselling is a non-judgemental, caring and confidential approach which can assist you to work through a range of distressing issues and concerns. Counselling is a collaborative process in which you discuss your concerns and your current challenges to bring about resolution. Counselling can assist people to gain deeper insight, and to identify options and solutions that will enable them to live a healthier, happier and more fulfilling life. Counselling is not about analysing you, its focus is on clarifying how you would like things to be and the ways to bring about those changes.

Counselling is usually based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and other therapeutic modalities such as Solution Focused Therapy, person-centred therapy.
